I took my one day old A6400 to photograph some Spring migrants at the Magee Marsh Wilde life area near Toledo, Ohio.
Coming from A9, I have to say that the AF is OK but not great. I found many misfocused images in a burst even with stationary birds ( AF-C, Hi FPS). I used both Silent and mechanical Shutters and got the same amount of OOF images. However, I am really impressed with the IQ of this little camera. Simply put (same bird at the same distance): A6400 with the bare 100-400 lens has better IQ than A9 with 100-400+1.4TC, and A6400 with 100-400+1.4TC has significantly better IQ than A9 with 100-400+2XTC.
Thanks "Birdie" aka Roberto for the help, much appreciated.
