My limited experience with Zeiss on a problem also found them quite reluctant to conclude that there was any issue with my lens (which was under warranty). I eventually gave up sending them sample pics, sent the lens to the retailer, and then Zeiss did a great job fixing the lens and conceded it was out of spec. My point is only that it may not be in Zeiss' corporate culture to want to admit that there is an issue with the functioning of the lens. I had already decided not to order this one and if I were on the fence, I would not buy it until this is sorted out. The greatest advantage of Sony for autofocus lenses to my way of thinking is the eye autofocus feature. If that is not working reasonably well for a particular autofocus lens, then I would look at other options.
