Is the Batis 25mm comparable to the classic distagon 25/2 ZF.2?
I used the adapted 25/2 on the A7RII, and now finally have the Loxia 25/2.4, the lens that I hoped Zeiss would make. It is no disappointment, somehow the A7RII + Loxia combo makes sense in so many ways, just light enough to simply hang around your neck and not really notice, whereas the adapted 25/2 would soon become a burden.
Optically the Loxia also makes a lot more sense, good though as the classic 25/2 was. The colours in particular are much more realistic and alive, the whole rendering is much more natural and convincing. But likely the Batis is better optimized for the Sony sensor (than the classic 25/2 ZF.2.
I have to say that with this Loxia 25/2.4, I am now also fully "converted" to the Loxia rendering, which took a bit of getting used to with my first Loxia (35/2). A classic series in the making, with the low contrast bokeh as one of the "highlights"
