For years I have wanted to visit Yellowstone for a winter shoot. I have been to the park once during the summer months, but was not enamored with what I saw. Put off by the crowds of snap shooters and surreal reckless behaviors, I decided to wait for a winter opportunity before making a return trip. Because I am a teacher, I have been limited by student schedules for my entire working life. In September I made a snap decision to bundle some personal days and find a way to get to Yellowstone. Sadly, I only managed to put together two full days of shooting, but my time in the dead quiet of winter was an absolute blast... I had so much fun on this one snowy day during my brief stay, that I desperately hope to go back and spend more time hiking the park during the winter months...
I'll share four standouts for more and will likely post a second set in the future... for now, it's bison and one coyote shot.
