I upgraded to the 5DsR from a 5D3 around March 2016 specifically for a trip to the Canadian Rockies in June of that year. I'm so glad I did, the IQ of the 5DsR was vaslty better than the 5D3 and not just the resolution of course, but also the sensor had shown real improvements in DR, with no banding n the shadows and easily a full stop of shadow DR, probably closer to 1.5 stops. Apart from this the 5DsR seemed to have superior AF, possibly due to having dual digic processors and eve in LV the AF was more snappy, despite not having DPAF. At high ISO the noise was no worse when equalised and shows more detail, the 5DsR also had several improvements from the 1DX like full EC in M mode when using auto ISO, ability to set minimum shutter speed in Av mode based on FL and added intervalometer. The only real let downs, the video has been gimped even further from the 5D3, the buffer is small and screen previews have a bit of lag. Small nits. On my trip to Canada not only was it my landscape camera, I used it more than the 1DX for wildlife and birding. Having nearly 3x the pixels to play with allows huge cropping and still a bag of detail, it's effectiviely a 1.7x TC compared to 1DX.
I really want to see Canon man up and make the 5DsII a feature rich camerathat can easily take on the D850 and A7R3 in all aspects of shooting. With it's rumored 60MP, if this can shoot 8fps, get 1DXII or better AF, much bigger buffer, feature rich 4K I will sell 5D4 and 1DX in a heartbeat.
