In a nutshell from my experience, the 5DSR it is very satisfying to use, being a vast improvement in AF speed, tracking etc over the 6D when shooting, and a huge resolution jump when reviewing images.
Personally, I did not enjoy the jump up in size as I did get used to the 6D being one of the smaller FF DSLRs, but the difference is not huge and you get used to it.
The biggest letdown is file size and file handling in general. The camera does seem slower to read and write files to the cards, and you will be hogging your HDDs too when cold storing and even worse when using PS to PP them with layers: those PSD files will be BIG, often stupendously so.
For the in-camera performance, mainly for reducing the time it takes from taking a shot to reviewing it, I have found that it does help using 2 cards. In the beginning I told myself that I would use only the SD cards I already have and not double dip with CFs. And I kept my promise for the most part, I've only gotten one 64GB CF, just to try this tip out, and it worked: using 2x cards, set them up for one to store only RAW and the other whichever JPEG size you prefer. I typically go RAW + S JPEG with the 50MP camera. Then I set the camera to use only the card that I store the smaller JPEG file to. This reduces the time it takes to review images after a short burst notably in my experience.
