Re: Mustang Air to Air: The Sequel

Thanks Charles! She's a Sweetheart for sure! We spent five hours paddling around The Silver River today and had a wonderful time together. I brought my Olympus T65 because this adventure was all about Gracie breaking in her new camera. When photo ops arose I told her that I'd navigate the waterway and get her in position, all she had to do was compose and shoot. She was so excited about shooting together and having her new camera, it was a real treat for me.

We downloaded her images this evening and went through all of them in Photoshop. She got some very cool ones, but there were some that should have been in focus, based upon what I see, but they were soft. I did a focus check and the camera seems to be working fine so I went back to the manual and changed a couple of AF parameters. The focus seems to pop in a bit faster now, so we'll see if her hit ratio goes up tomorrow on our next adventure in Tampa. I had large JPEG set, now we are going with RAW just to make sure we're dealing with the highest quality file.

I think part of the problem could also be that she isn't always pressing the shutter button down halfway for a pre-focus. All in all she is happy with what she got today, just a little learning curve of the T6....for both of us. Analysis is a little tough of rme because obviously a couple of kit lenses, regardless of what a good value they are, will not perform like "L" glass, so I need to factor that into my scrutiny.

My little Oly T65 earned it's keep today documenting our outing, above and below the waterline. Pretty cool little camera of what it is.
