Not that I am surprised after reviewing 45 pages on this thread, but now having done my own little test with HaruhikoT's suggested inverted 1500mm PCX + step up/down rings + version III Techart auto focus adapter for Contax G lens to Sony E on the A7rII, with the Contax G Biogon 28/2.8, I 'd say the differences are dramatic.

Note* Minor adjustments applied in LR to bring up exposure and adjust some clipped blacks. I also applied the Adobe Zeiss Bigon T*2,8/28 lens profile in LR. No additional sharpening or cropping. Hand held with admitted figeting with the adapter's AF system ( sometimes it works, some times it doesnt with this particular lens) My setup here:
