I don't think it's a lens issue. I bought one brand new never used in box.

That Fotodiox adapter must be out of specifications..Without a filter you should be able to focus past infinity by a fair margin because Contax G lenses don't have a hard stop at the infinity mark.
All Pixco adapters I have ever used have been the worst.
Nikon-G -> Leica-M even had a light leak...
So my mones for a too short adapter is on the Pixco :-)
