Thank you very much, Tam! The AF is mediocre for BIF but luckily hummers hover at flowers and the AF works fine for semi-stationary targets like them. I would not take the setup on safari to Africa but I would use it again in Costa Rica or Ecuador, for example. That Canon lens is simply awesome and the combo of that with the Sony backlit CMOS sensor yields excellent image quality.
