Thank you very much, Tam! The AF is mediocre for BIF but luckily hummers hover at flowers and the AF works fine for semi-stationary targets like them. I would not take the setup on safari to Africa but I would use it again in Costa Rica or Ecuador, for example. That Canon lens is simply awesome and the combo of that with the Sony backlit CMOS sensor yields excellent image quality.

I would also love to see how the combo of equipment looks together (including photographer for scale!)

Excellent images here Joshua, really like comps and especially the perch atop the flower!!! ( And yep, I'm still alive, but not bragging about it.) Hope all is well with you & family!!

Thank you very much for your kind words, Yemil! I am out of town right now. I will try to post something like that later on in the week. FYI, my setup was on tripod 100% of the time during the trip to Costa Rica. Needless to say it is front heavy but quite manageable on tripod

Hi Leon, wow, what a pleasant surprise for you to stop by. It is the same lens I used when we did shoot together at the wildlife refuge near Houston a couple of years back. We are holding up just fine and I hope you are doing the same. Again, thank you!
