This is a great low-priced yet high-quality macro rail that allows fine control of movement in two dimensions. It is designed so that you can easily remove one of the adjustable sections to make the unit more compact and move in just one dimension.
I did loosen the 2 halves and rotate them 180 degrees, so the X and Z axes adjustment knobs are on opposite sides of the unit, rather than the same side as they come from the factory. It is a 60-second job to set it back to the default orientation if you so desire, and the necessary allen key is included.
