I keep trying to find reasons I don\'t need this lens, but it keeps pulling at me like no other piece of gear ever has. My 300/2.8 AF-S II boosted my rodeo shots like no other lens has. I found that too restrictive as at times, it was a little too long. Got a 200-400/4 VR2 and love the range and excellent contrast, but I do notice a big difference going from f/2.8 to f/4. I\'m lucky enough to shoot in good lighting (most of the time) for now, but I\'m dreading the day the clouds come out or have a night event. f/4 will really crunch into my low ISOs and high shutter speeds that I\'ve become used to.

200/2 could essentially give me three different lenses and from what people say, there is little change in focus speed and sharpness.

I\'m loosing my mind lusting after this lens!!!
