Close enough to not really matter....

Looking at the crops, Canon looks better at 400mm (see the sticking on the green belt). They look about equal at 500/560.

I wouldn\'t be switching systems one way or the other. If I was to get a 200-500 I\'d for sure be mounting that on a D500.
