Night Herons and Snowy Egret the Prey (Warning) (15 shots)
Here\'s some new black and yellow crowned night heron shots that I\'ve never posted before. A late nesting species at the night heron rookery turned out to be glossy ibis. The juvenile glossy came out with some of the late nesting black crowns which still had not fledged yet. Aside from that, I witnessed some very unusual behavior. Just in the cove a black backed gull landed onto a fishing snowy egret and killed and ate him with it\'s mate. I\'ve never seen a snowy egret get killed by another bird before.
