Re: The Nikon 200mm f/2 Thread - part 2

Last November I spent 2 weeks trekking in Uganda. This trip I was seeking primates and knowing I\'d be in the rain forests I decided that Chubby ( 200/2 ) and 85/1.4 would be my only lens on either my D800s or D3s. 75% of my keepers were shot higher than 5000 ISO. Had I chose ny 70-200/2.8 I would have missed many shots. Many of the shots were 6400 + , 2.0 & 1/100 sec. One day the D3s was all I could use due to overcast skies and the forest canopy nearly made the day night. The D800e was no slouch either, I believe both of these are from the D800e.

The gorillas were in better light but I fell in love with the chimps. Daily we trekked around 12 to 15 miles following the chimps. The good news is porters were available and I used one for my main pack, even so the jungle like trek added lbs to the 200/2 after each mile.
