Here are two pics to illustrate the magenta \"target pattern\" with the FE35.
The pattern emerged capturing dark skies, not shooting anywhere near the sun so it is not a flare but some sort of chromatic aberration. What we are looking at here is a series of concentric purple rings. the problem is, once you know what to look for one will see it even in very mildly corrected pictures.

The first shot is shot at f2.8, the second one at f5. The first pic has been doctored with a crazy cc to make the rings more apparent (maxing magenta saturation will result in solid, blocky flat magenta crud, but it\'s so far from a realistic use so I did not bother export that), the second has a strong saturation boost as well but now i can see the pattern emerge even in mild corrections.

I am not posting that to poo-poo the lens or be a picky pixel peeper - Can one take fabulous shots with the FE35 ? Of course. Is there a flaw in the lens that will bring unwanted color noise in your pixels and restrain what can be done with them ? yes. So, troublesome at least for me!
