I think with the hand grip will be a perfect balance

I found a model for some a test shot, you can see there is no shadow can be seen on the wall in portrait position

By the way I have the VM35 shoot at f/4, you can see the resolution when the A7r combo with a good optics (the above photo have full size jpeg in my flickr)

KKFung, thank you. You have a very nice test sample here...I am thinking the same lens to go with A7r. BTW, Sony flash system seems doing very well too...I still don\'t know how they can eliminate the shadows in this case
