Looking back on the year, I started out with some neat firsts and that is why these shots were special for me.
1. The end of 2012 was the first time I got to see and photograph snowy owls. Thanks to Tim K I had a great time. I had to get back for another round and convinced my wife to come along, even though we had a three month old puppy. Both came along though the puppy,a yorkie she named Bella, got to spend time in the car after I made a comment about her size relative that of the raptors. This shot is from that trip, the light was very flat in the evening with over cast skies despite the weatherman\'s promise of some relief. The background is an ocean bay and hills beyond.
2. Another first was a trip to BdA. Though we were late and missed most of the huge flocks of birds the trip was memorable for the time spent with an old college friend, Craig P from LV, getting to meet DesertDrake (Al), three meals of NM style chile rellenos and for the spectacle of BdA itself. This sandhill was recovering from a little \"ice tango\" slip he made.
3. Another shot from BdA of a blue goose landing.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone!
