Ok boingyman Bears now game is over (2& 0 YEAH) and my rebuttal.
#1 is about hte moment and in my opinion it is caught. Will probably make the cut.
#2 is the strongest of the set in my opinion. The reason I shot it and like it so much is the string line bring the eye in from the left into the image. The gentle curve on the bottom of the stairs repeats that curve of the table. The geometric pattern of the squares is broken by the curves and circle of the table. I also think the strong movement of the woman at a right angle diagonal to the railing creates a tension that really gets to the heart of this image. I need some more time with it to see if it makes that grade over time.
#3 I will toss. To much like the famous Ralph Gibson image where the white stick is parallel wit hte lines on the pavement. This fails in that regard plus again done much better by Gibson.
#4 On the fence but there is humor which is in a lot of my work.
#5 love the commentary it makes about the time and place. Everyone is on a devise now and I like the way he stepped into the light, the strng diagonal light pattern and the depth with the light area in hte background but this to will probably be tossed.
#6 will probably make the cut for reasons already stated.
#7 will be tossed.
#8 tossed
#9 definitely in for now. The strong diagonal white line seems to be creating a strong barrier for the white shoes. It\'s a simple, clean composition and the repeating shapes in the bottom right are larger and running in different direction to the pattern under the shoes. I find all of those contrasts interesting.
Thats my 2 cents. Thanks for your comments because they do help especially on images that are on the bubble. The images I really feel strongly about maybe not s much (LoL)....
Might have another show next year so this imput is all good.
