Very nice Douglas. You mentioned to me earlier that you found this lens rendering a bit flat, but it looks quite good to my eyes. Have you had the chance to compare it with the Planar?

Thanks, Edward. I don\'t actually have the Planar in my possession, yet, so I\'m not sure. There more I shoot this Summicron, though, the more convinced that I am by it. Apparently, the ZM has a more modern multicoating, so it will probably be a bit better at flare suppression and have a little more contrast, but I\'m warming to the Summicron, and the build is fantastic comparatively (I\'ve owned several ZMs in the past, so I know their build well.)

On the other hand, the 28 Elmarit ASPH has a more modern, green hued multicoating than my 50 Summicron, and it is much more contrasty and modern looking. I\'m betting it\'ll actually be a good match to the ZM Planar. It is also likely a better match to the new 50 Summicron ASPH, which is way out of my budget. I don\'t have any good shots with the 28 yet, though.

I ordered a collapsible 50 Summicron, too. My gut is telling me that I may end up with the collapsible and the Planar as my two 50s with very different vibes, but this newer Summicron may be too hard to give up. It could be the perfect balance between the two.

p.s. the above shot was at F8, if I recall correctly.
