I guess the way I use the 50MP myself I never run into it\'s \'awfulness\'. Closeup I use f2 a lot and because of the very thin dof I never have problems with those corners. For subjects that are further away I always stop it down.
The larger DOF of the MP is also really nice when using it for landscapes, like I do at lot.
Stopped down both makro-planars also look VERY similar to me. The same raw \"sterile\" look.
I certainly agree that the planar has nice character, but IMHO the 50MP just doesn\'t deserve all the criticism. So I keep defending it
