Gary, I like my 90 Elmarit very much. But without knowing anything about both 90 cron, I can\'t offer you any insight about comparison. Based on limit usage on it, I feel it is very sharp lens with high contrast and CA is well controlled for a lens without APO. I use it mainly for landscape to complete my M kit. For the price(in Leica standard), this is a germ lens. I especially like the size of it. almost the same as 50lux. You can also share same set of 46mm filters with other lux, so it fulfill my need at this focal length. 90mm 2.5 is another option worth to think. Ron has many excellent pictures from it.
The picture of your daughter is excellent. A precious moment. You nail the focus. I agree with Dan, I would prefer it brighter. But has to agree this down to the personal preference. I viewed histogram of your photo, you can boost highlight/white a little more to increase DR/contrast a little more. LR4 is very good at it.
Have you tried Lightroom 4, it seems have a little bit better starting point than LR3 for color. I myself always struggle M9\'s color, it is not consistent and can go wide for AWB. I feel whenever I need correct WB a lot, I never get good looking color. So I no longer use AWB but use manual, daylight or cloudy depend on condition.
Ron, You seems know a lot more than I do about that area Shame. Me and my wife went SF very often before kids for shopping and concert. but never visit these scenic view points other than typical GGBridge. I was not into photography yet. Now we sure still go there often but mostly Zoo, Aquarium or park
A very good series. especially those outdoor pics, what a color and very impressive clarity. #5 is outstanding, the middle kid\'s eyes really draw my attention.
Charles, I like both of them. Especially the portrait.
Dan, Those 35lux pics looks very nice, I like the 2nd portrait and those \'luxury\' car shots. It renders very similar to 50lux other than slightly lively OOF rendering. Can\'t comment color as I have a crap monitor in office.
Ryan, Nice 24 series. The number 2 stand out for me. Nice capture and PP.
Ron, I like your 2nd set a lot. All have great color, with just right about contrast. a long way for me to get those results. Do you do PP within LR, or in PS. Do you do step size sharpening for web?
EDIT----Post comments. Ron, we post almost at the same time.
