Canon winter

Here we go again.
In effect, much of N. America as well as Europe are in the claws of winter.
Therefore, your winter theme pictures are sought.
What is important is that each image is accompanied by ID of the gear used. Furthermore, any additional notes on photography techniques will be very appreciated. We gotta remember, this is a Canon gear forum after all.

For me,winter shooting means a struggle with low light and dificulties in finding half decent background. Then there is snow, ice and freezing temperatures. However, we\'ve got to work with what we\'ve got.

These two shots illustrate rather well the wretched light and background of today\'s shooting session. Although one of the most capable low-light combos was used, i.e., 1DsMkII + 200 f/2 IS, auto focussing was quite difficult on in-flight targets. Out of some 30 head-on flight shots attempted, only one was in focus......the camera just couldn\'t compute AF fast enough.
I sure hope 1DX will help me in that regard, otherwise I wouldn\'t need it, especially at its $7,000 price sticker.
