Unfortunately, no. Apple has not opened up AirPlay for anything other than video content yet. The second they do I intend to support that though.
Their site shows you can do video, music and photos (from camera roll).
Be careful on which one you get, especially for photogs. Pretty much all models have different suppliers for the screen. Meaning that low end 16GB wifi only has the low end screen, while the high model with 3G has the best screen. Better contrast, viewing angle, black levels, brightness, etc. Color accuracy seems to be in tight control though. http://www.anandtech.com/show/4215/apple-ipad-2-benchmarked-dualcore-cortex-a9-powervr-sgx-543mp2/4
I saw the difference myself. That being said, I still plan on buying a wifi only model.

iOS currently has no color space support, so you only roughly get sRGB regardless of the model. I have enhancement requests filed with Apple to add it, but I have no clue if they will.
Thanks for posting... this is timely for me. I realize you're specifically reviewing the iPad 2, but I'm in the process of looking for a new condition original iPad on craigslist.
I'll definitely refer back to this once I get my hands on one for the list of apps

Hey anyone will be trying out the Blackberry Playbook and the Motorola Playbook?
There are also other alternative tablets... anyone used those?
I have the Motorola Xoom, while I personally like it I'd be hard pressed to recommend it as a photographers tool. The screen is pretty good, but there is some color shift with viewing angles, the Ipad is supposed to be better in this regard. The stock photo viewer is giving me some display problems, whatever it does to resize images to fit the screen makes them look unsharp, they look fine zoomed at 100% but that's no way to show off images. Android 3.0 also still feels like it is beta at times, it's not terrible but I think 3.1 could be an improvement. Considering you can get an Ipad for less money (16 Gb model) with a better screen probably makes it the better choice for a portfolio, plus the inherit "cool factor" comes with the Ipad.
The Xoom isn't all bad of course, I like the browser and internet use in general, the current tablet apps while not high in number are pretty nice. The overall usage is smooth and snappy (minus the occasional hiccups that comes with first gen hardware and software).
The reviews I've read of the Blackberry Playbook are fairly similar, good hardware that still needs work on the software (the lack of a calendar is a big omission in my opinion), plus I'm not sure I'd want the smaller screen to show off images.

What do you think of the White VS black bezel for photography?
I picked white simply because the black shows finger prints too well. My friend's one day old ipad2 black looks pretty dirty. Whereas I can hardly tell the screen is dirty when there's something displayed.
