Man that Poyey chick knows what she's doin'. Very inspiring. I'll keep some of her looks in mind next time around I'm doing headshots.
Spence - Processing on the skin/eyes is pretty dang simple. Skin just gets the standard Lightroom "soften skin" brush (-100 clarity, +25 sharpness). Eyes are a custom brush preset I made... I don't have it in front of me at the moment, but it's something along the lines of +0.15 exposure, +25 contrast, + 30-40 clarity, +25 sharpness. Vary exposure as needed to look relatively natural.
Also, number 1 had a double dose of skin smoothing (ran the brush, new layer, ran it again), while selectively erasing areas that got too smooth.
I keep coming back to this thread and looking at these images - just outstanding. Straight into my 'places I look for inspiration' bookmark folder.
Thanks for posting.
Very nice set. I have a few suggestions to make them a tad better for next time.
- When the eyes are 'far over to the side', don't let them get too far over. Bring them back a little bit. Example is #3. #5 has them over, but not quite as far.
- #12 The crop needs a bit more on viewer's right. Show more of her shoulder. Some cropping could come off the top of this and some other shots too, but I suspect you left space there for the logo and would crop them more on top when you printed for final.
