Hi All;

I finally got around to processing more of my photos of Torres del Paine.

Enjoy, ...Dave

Impressive, majestic mountains!! 2nd works best for me. The 2nd and 3rd both need leveling, and that will serve to lose the intruding tree top (?) at the bottom of the 3rd. There seems to me a fairly strong cyan cast in the 1st.
Still, stunning scenery!

Lots of good things going on in the last shot. I think it would be an excellent choice for a pano crop, losing some of the foreground and perhaps a bit off the top as well. Love the image.

Excellent series Dave! The last one for me, though I'd tend to agree with Dave about trimming a bit off the top and bottom.

Thanks everyone for the C&C, I've more work to do on these images,so I appreciate the advice. Numbers 1 and 4 are my personal favorites. Both are high res, multi shot stitches, so there's room to crop. Number 1 was taken at sunrise so the color cast is reasonable because it was so dark. I was very lucky with weather, but on the Argentinian side Mt. Fitz Roy was socked in and I got nothing useful. It was a great trip and I recommend it to all.

Wonderful series, Dave. That third shot is my top choice because of the awesome sky. Very dramatic image. I would definitely crop out that foreground rock on the very bottom left of the shot.

Cheers,
Ed

Great shots. Second and fourth are my favorites although I agree the second is a bit tilted to the right. Thanks for sharing.

Zowie. Great series!
Could you let me know what focal lengths were used on each shot?
Thanks,
Henry

Hi Henry,

All were shot with a Canon 5DII using a 24 - 105mm F4L IS. Number one is a 5 frame stitch shot at iso 200 and 47 mm. All the other shots were done ~105 mm.

Number 1 is my favorite, followed by #4. Some people have commented on the cyan color cast in 1, but because of the very early light and the coloring of the water, it's reasonably accurate based on the original RAW file. I have quite a number of frames to process, so stay tuned.

Cheers, ...Dave

I continue to be amazed at the sight of these peaks Dave - they are so distinctive and the surrounding scenery just rocks. Very hard to pick a favorite view in the set although I am a little partial to the scene in that last one. #2 is quite close behind.

Thanks for sharing the views again.

Hi Alan;

Thanks for the compliments. Numbers 2 and 4 seem to be the consensus favorites. Number 4 is similar to the one you were kind enough to tweak in PS, but it was taken on another day. It's a three shot photo stitch put together with PTgui. I agree with another forum member that it needs to be cropped a bit on top and bottom.

My personal favorite is #1, but it needs to be cropped left and right, and color adjusted a bit. I had a 20 x 30" print made at Costco last night that came out very well.

Warm regards, ...Dave
