This is my favorite part ... the fact that ALL optics are a series of compromises and the more intimately you know what those strengths & weakness are, the better poised you are to use that to your advantage. in accordance with your shooting goals.
IMO, there is no such thing as BEST or ideal (best @ something specific, maybe) no matter how loudly people make BEST claims ... just a lot of DARN AWESOME glass (the 'best' contenders that is), all with their share of tradeoffs somewhere ... so, choose your poison.
Excellent work, yet again.
BTW ... a link to your website would be appreciated.

I'd still like to see a Rokkor, Zuiko, or Nikkor compared with these - Heck, even a Yashica.
Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled lenses yearning to breathe free..and I shall test them

I thought the DOF is only a function of the focal length, F stop, and focus distance?
No, that's only for a theoretical lens model. You have for instance freaks of nature like the 21/2.8 Distagon that has more DOF at f/2.8 than Canon's 16-35 @ 21mm has at f/5.6.

If you look at the bottom of my post you'll see a little "www" button. That's the link.
Thanks a lot Luka! Your test report is excellent, it make me understanding the differences between the new & old lenses, especially the HFT & ZE. It's hard to find any side by side test shots from the web. You did a great test!!!
