I've just had an email from one of the distributors that the UK price will be �999 including vat. Deliveries expected at the end of march.

I had got my name down for pre-order but I think I'm going to miss this one and use the money to part fund an upgrade to 5DII.

What happend to the �899 price? That's cr*p, this website said it would be �899. I check now, and 'update 2' has pushed it to �999. Why on earth they said that if they weren't 100% sure I'm not sure...

Yet another reminder that the Euro and the Pound are, in terms of purchasing power in Germany and the UK, realistically at parity.

Interesting, 999� is ~�840+P&P to the UK. I've bought a lens from a good shop in the EU before, so I see no reason not to go this route (other than to "stimulate the economy")
