The recently introduced (Canon) 40mm pancake got me to re-appreciate the convenience of very ultra compact glass...something I had completely lost touch with after years of shooting with increasingly larger lenses. So, I ordered and received yesterday an OM Zuiko 24/2.8 & 28/3.5 (couldn't decide if I wanted 24mm or 28mm so I ordered both since the 28mm is so darn inexpensive ). Only had a chance for a quick inspection so far but I should be getting some pics up this weekend!

I keep sayin' I'm not lookin' for any new gear...but when the deal's there, I can't say no...
Got this puppy this morning for $30 at a thrift shop....
...the aperture leaves are slow to shut down to F16-32, but there's no oil on them
...and of course it's not a problem when used manually on the Canon...(I tend to use 5.6-8 most of the time anyway)
...the focusing barrel feels dampened, it's nice and silky smooth, unlike modern AF barrels
(and likely a lot slower AF than the newer versions...but again not a problem for MF use on my Canon)...
and while it is an AF lens, it has quite a long throw for an AF lens,
(another factor in slow AF when compared to more modern AF lenses),
but that makes for a very capable MF lens...
While not as cult-popular as earlier MF Micro Nikkors, and perhaps not as high an IQ as the newer 60mm AF Micro Nikkor,
this version has the advantage of not having the lubrication problems of the MF Nikkors,
and is cheaper than the newer AF Nikkors...so, recommended!

Most recent alt purchase was a Leica Summicron-M 50mm v4. Going to need to sell a few lenses to help fund the purchase :/ does anyone own both this lens and the contax G 45 on a NEX? Did you end up keeping them both or only one?

Just got brand new Canon EF 400mm f/5.6, I will use it for fast events on 5D2 and for "artistic" on Sigma SD1 Merrill with a little conversion, ofcourse it keeps AF.

Thanks for the heads up, bought it. I don't usually buy from KEH because of high shipping costs and customs taxes, but at this price it will still be cheap provided the condition is OK. I'll return it otherwise.
Wow, bellows for $43 in EX? That's a steal, but I've already got one.
I got the lens today, and it looks like new. The only fault is that it has a very thin hairline scratch on the front element. I didn't notice it at first, but when shining a flashlight through the lens it is visible.
I tested the lens, and the tiny scratch doesn't seem to affect picture quality at all. I didn't have to pay customs or taxes (it's always a lottery), so for $415, I consider this lens a real bargain. Thanks again Rico.
Here's a sample image, but it's hand held and it was windy. Will post more later.

Awesome, Brian! I look forward to seeing your photographic eye in action. For flower pics and other subjects nonplanar, the SP100 has the "good" bokeh in the background: always what I want, but rarely delivered by other CZ lenses in the C/Y line. I have a couple of microscratches on the front element of my Aposonnar, and there's no discernible effect, even in contre-jour settings.

Is there some way to adapt such a rig to Nikon?
That was going to be my next question to Rico or others here.
I thought he said in another thread awhile back that you can't.
Not sure as the smaller mount hole of the Nikon may be a problems as well as is there such a thing as a C/Y to Nikon adapter due to register length difference. LEITAX?
I'm getting a Leitax adapter mount for my 100 APO so I can shoot it on both my 1ds3 and D800E.
Getting a RRS macro rail for it too.
