This old harbour ferry has been converted into a floating restaurant, located at Darling Harbour.
For many decades it ran from Manly, at the mouth of Sydney Harbour to the city. A very fine old vessel.
No problem with the conversion. The bottom (water) and top (from the railing and flags up) are fine elements of this image, it's just the photo's middle that is a quite busy, and your subject does not stand out enough.

I like this Ray, and agree that such old vessels ooze character.
I'm a contrast freak, so blacker blacks would suit me a bit more.
About the clutter- not much can be done about it from that perspective (the reality is that it IS cluttered), but I'm thinking if the prow of the ship had the bridge support directly behind it- that might help to create a little more visual separation (i.e. camera position more to your left).

Thanks santiago, I agree with your comments about the middle and I appreciate your comment about the conversion, I have been trying a few new things

Thanks Charlie for the detailed thoughts, next time I am in town I will have another go at it.
Ray,
I like this shot too, Ray. It has so many elements that it looks a little busy. I think a tighter crop putting the ferry in closer to the lower left corner would make this shot sing. I really like your processing on this one too.

Thanks Klaus, I will certainly have a look at that.
