p.1 #1 · 35mm f/1.2 for Canon Mount

Does anyone make a 35mm f/1.2 (or faster) for a Canon mount (<$3,000) that would work on my 5DII (even with an adapter, if the rig works very well)? Thanks.

as far as i know there are no 35/1.2 lenses made for any slr. the only way to currently get FF and a 35/1.2 is to get an m9 and the voigtlander lens.

Not that I'm aware of
Any reason 1.4 is not wide enough or 50mm is not close enough?

There are some excellent 35/1.4 lenses out there. As are there excellent 50-58mm f1.2 lenses. Take your pick!

Interesting. I own the 85L, but I would prefer something wider. Not that reviews are everything, but the reviews (both formal and casual) of the 50L aren't exactly overwhelmingly positive. I might even prefer something wider but equally fast. The 35L is close, but I'd prefer the extra light if I could get it.

Sounds like I may be out of luck at the 35mm range -- I thought there might be an adaptable Leica.

What are the good f/1.2 lenses around 50mm?

Regardless of reviews out there The 35L is actually an amazing lens, I was sceptical for a long time until I recently bought one.

ALSO if you are into alternate gear, the upcoming Zeiss ZE 1.4/35 looks extremely promising as well.

lovinglife,

Did you mean the 50L is a amazing lens? Everyone knows the 35L is amazing!

The Zeiss looks promising.

A list of some of the best, that I know of:

Nikon 50mm f1.2 Ai-S
Nikon 55mm f1.2 Ai-S
Canon FL 55mm f1.2
Canon FD 55mm f1.2 SSC
Canon FD 55mm f1.2 Asp SSC
Minolta Rokkor 58mm f1.2

Make sure you do lots of research before you buy any of the lenses listed though as some "draw" better than others and some have better quality (smoother is better IMO) bokeh than others.
The Nikons tend to have "funky" bokeh which is too busy for my liking so personally I would reccommend one of the Canons or the Rokkor.
The FL and the Rokkor are my favorites in the list, but you may just want to go for what you can afford because prices of lenses like these have gone through the roof.
Of course it depends what camera you want to mount them to as well...The FL and FD's can be used on the EF mount via an FL/FD-EF adapter, but, its an optical adapter and therefore the performance will be diluted somewhat over using the raw lens. If you want to mount an FD/FL lens on a Nikon camera however, then you would be out of luck.
The Rokkor and FL can both be converted to EF mount so an optical adapter is not required but the FD's are harder to convert.

I don't think that lens comes with EF and Nikon mount. I belived that was the 75mm lens

Correct. The Nokton 35/1.5 Aspherical II is a re-release of the 35/1.2 that was discontinued and it's available in M mount only.

I think the new version is the 35mm f/1.1 Classic, or another 1.2 depending on which rumour site you believe:

It's not in English, but I thought the numbers printed on the lens were 35/1.2

Both the link with the specs and the photo of the lens say 1,2

Photoscala is often quite accurate, so I am guessing it will be an f/1.2 lens.

Everybody does and Leica rumours (thank you for the link) has a post today where they go from f/1.1 to the announcement of the f/1.2.
