Just got the lens. Loving it. Not the sharpest one in the bunch, but im comparing it to a 85L and a 135L, so i might be excpecting a little too much.
Build quality, as noted, is superb. Nice damped focusing ring and the only thing i hate about it is the lens cap which is .. awful. It just doesnt stay on.
Here's some samples.. Some of you might know the girl. Posts often on people photography forum as meriirem.

Another thing, they will apparently ship a version with AF-confirm. And since the comparison is with 35L I assume there will be a Canon version with this feature. Good news.
Strange that it's so hard to find information.
They will not ship a version with AF-confirm for Canon mount, unfortunately. The test you are referring to was made on Canon body with Nikon version of this lens and Nikon-EOS adapter with AF-confirm chip. Hence the confusion...
Here's a couple of shots with the Samyang again. I have a bunch of shots of the kid, but i'm still waiting for a permission to publish them. That's the 35/1.4 samyang on the second shot. So easy that a 5 year old can manage it ;-)
Here's a French review of the lens, google translate did an ok job translating it to English ...at least comparing it to the result of a Swedish version :o)

I'm curious what the files coming out of the camera look like without a lot of post processing. Could you post a shot, perhaps the bottom one here, as a straight raw converted image with just an exposure adjustment if needed. Just want to get a sense how the lens renders color and contrast.
Thanks very much. Unless you have shot this as a jpeg in some sort of vivid/ saturation enhancement setting, it looks like the colors and contrast rendering of this lens may have a bit more pop and saturation to them compared to the Samyang 85 1.4, which has somewhat flat contrast and color. If so, this is looking like a very impressive lens indeed.

Should be a perfect match for my 5D, then.
(Hi guys)
(Andre, the Troll Hunter movie looks very cool. Can't wait to see it)
Hi, Paul! Good to see you! And Ulrik! Hope you get to see it, Paul! A few shots were even done with Canon cameras! Haha - try to spot them :-) I just got my hands on the Fujifilm x100. Looking forward to testing it out over the next few weeks.
I am on the fence about this Samyang still, but it looks good. I think I will wait for the Rokinon version, they seem to be a bit cheaper, and I am actually not in a hurry for another 35/1.4. I got the Canon, the Contax, the AiS and the OM f2 as well... Btw, based on the hyping done by the two of you, Paul and Ulrik, I got the Rokinon 85, which is a fantastic lens, so thank you for giving me the heads up on that one.
As has already been discussed, it is quite large, about the size of the 135L. That being said, it seems well built, and is fairly light despite it's size. The focus ring is smoother on this lens than it was on my Samyang 85/1.4 as well.
I like the shots Matt. Much more impressive IMO than the shots I saw from one of the first reviews. The Samyang may be in my future after all, but since I just picked an old Nikkor 35/1.4 it may have to wait a while.
