Anyone have experience with the Newton flash brackets. I purchased a Custom Bracket and a Stroboframe bracket. Both keep the flash in place and the camera rotates. I'm not sure either is what I'm looking for. Yesterday I talked with robert Newton and I think he probably has what I'm looking for. I'll be using them with a 1Ds and a 1DM2. thanks

Absolutely love my Newton Di100FR "flash rotating" bracket which I use with my 1D and now Mark II. I used both the Strobo and Custom bracket before. Strobo's flimsy and the Custom is so heavy I was aggrevating my old rotator cuff injury after all day shoots [grin]. The Newton is compact and designed so I can hold the camera and lens while shooting in either orientation. While it looks light or flimsy, it's well machined and mine's good as new after almost two years of heavy use.
OK thanks. I have one lying around somewhere for my Mark II, need to find it. I just noticed the other day when I was shooting with the 70-200 f/2.8 on my 1D and the 400 f/2.8 on my Mark II, the finder image was much brighter in the latter. I was afraid it was due to the Ec-D I have in the 1D and that I'd just never noticed the loss of brightness before.
