I think, if I buy the Sony Alpha NEX-7, then I will consider it as a back-up to my EOS 5D II until a good ultra-wide alternative shows up.
Without knowing you I think the "if" can be exchanged into a "when". That is from following the thread and having seen your nice and detailed images here in the Alt forum.
the .75 adapter is not a fisheye and gives you 12mm.
this is with the original nex-5 yesterday. I made the mistake of P&S---if you want the best performance in a landscade situtaion I think you are better off using MF and setting your aperture around 4.5
Philippe: two things. Those images are looking very impressive IQ wise. Second: I have never seen such images from you and I must say they are great and I like them a lot!
Dierk: I love the colors and the spatiality of your Lux images, but the backgrounds look a bit harsh. Is that the lens or PP (sharpening without treshhold)?
That seems to be a characteristic of the new FLE version of the 35/1.4 ASPH, in some cases. It is sharper, has less focus shift in some cases, but is not quite as smooth.
The images look good with the conversion lens. I would be interested to see the uncompressed raw format, especially how this unit performs in the corners.

For heavy duty work the sigma is pretty good, but it is huge, while the sony 16 is 68 grams and the .75 adapter also very light--very easy to have in the kit.
The sony requires more attention to get best results.
thebratts, congratulations on your purchase!
Heinz, Jonas, thanks for your kind words. They are much appreciated!
Jonas, your own shot is very poetic. Nice work!
Uhoh7, I would love to know how I need to be more careful to get better IQ out of the 16mm. Thanks in advance!

Edit: Just read your former post. Both the 12/5.6 and 15/4.5 are supposed to be very good. I'd also be weary of reviews with those lenses on a NEX-3 or 5 (the former bodies). The new 3C and 5N are supposed to be much better in regards to corner performance with such wide angle lenses, specifically exhibiting better corner performance with those two particular lenses.
As my NEX purchase is now almost certain, I have been beating down the used market looking for either of these lenses, but there is a big scarcity of CV lenses in the marketplace (ironically more Leica lenses available these days than in recent memory).
Any advice on manual focus, especially with non-stationary targets? What level do you put peaking? What is your keeper % without zooming in to check focus?
Denoir,
these are some of the finest shots i have seen with any nex, by finest i mean great color, contrast and detail. How much is the lens and how much is sensor? Did you have to do much PP to these?

Lovely examples of denoirian quality, Luka!
BTW, FYI I now own both a NEX C3 and a 5N, and the 5N is substantially better IMHO, even though I can only get JPEGs out of it.
Also, do you confirm that there is no colour shift from the ZM 18?

Nice to see how well the APO Summi deals with the leaves on the upper left in the third pic.
Not that it really matters, but I've seen several people abbreviating Summilux to "Summi", which is a bit unfortunate because it could refer to Summicron just as well. (Hence, Cron and Lux are better abbreviations.)
I really don't like the rendering of the APO Summilux 75 though, in almost everything I've seen from it on FM. Not impressed by the bokeh and LoCA is there in web sized pics.
