The 18-105 is a little larger than I'd like (but still relatively light) and so far, it's the most versatile. It's sharp enough wide open and very crisp when stopped down. I like having 105mm's for wildlife and for mushing out the BG in a portrait. if I need ultra-wide I can just shoot a pano. (not quite the same, but will work)
I clip it on the shoulder strap on my pack with one of those Peak Design clips, love, love love the clip, keeps it out of the way and super accessible.
I like your street shots quite a lot. I have a couple of questions, if you don't mind.
How do you get the shots that you do? It appears that you are often shooting strangers, often women, like the woman a bit further on in this thread. What is your techniques for actually taking the picture of a stranger whom you are standing fairly close to and aiming a camera at?
On equipment: I notice that may of your street shots are taken with the Sony 5NM. Is that because it looks like such an ordinary, amateur camera that people notice it less?
Also, you use the Sony 35mm f2.8 extremely well. Is that also because it is so small and ordinary looking that people don't notice it? Do you do any particular post-processing when you use the 35 2.8? I like the results that you are getting, but I have always found that lens to be a bit flat and ordinary--but you do very well with it!
The NEX-5NM because it is the only monochrome camera I have at the moment (My Leica MM is with Leica getting a sensor replacement.). The results ( 35/2.8) have more to do with the monochrome sensor than anything else. I really do not spend much time on PP.
I guess a bit of practice is all one needs to get the shots. .
I am very noticeable and the camera is always noticed. I always carry a camera when i am out.
I was forced to use the Sony Rx1R II and NEX-5NM due to the light weight after a major surgery nearly two years ago and that single focal length usage also suited me.

I shoot my daughters club soccer team and usually use my FE70-200 f4 but we had a night game over the weekend. The only fast lens I have is the FE90mm macro so I gave it a shot. It did ok on the A6500 for focus. Better than I thought it would. It would hunt focus once in a while but not too bad.
