Yes, I do like the look of that lens. Look forward to seeing more shots. Thanks for showed the flaring. I find myself shooting backlighting a lot and flare and contrast control is an issue I struggle with on all my lenses.

Best,
Doug

Doesn't control flare too well and has some ghosting when shot directly into the sun but I kinda like the effect

I've had my a6500 and Touit lenses now for about two months. Still lots to learn but finally starting to feel comfortable with the equipment.

I have a question about my shot above of the water and clouds. I'm really just a beginner when it comes to digital processing.

There is a brownish/green blotchy area at the bottom center that has much smoother gradients on my computer jpeg and RAW file. The colors seem to be unchanged, though. Could anyone tell me what could be happening and how I can fix it?

Thanks, Doug

Looks like JPEG compression artifacts. Try exporting as a higher quality (90+) JPEG file from your edited RAW file.

It was at 80 quality. I bumped it up to 100 and increased it to 300 dpi and it now looks better but still not exactly like the RAW file. What I don't understand is that the jpeg on my computer matches my RAW file almost perfectly but here it still shows more artifacts. Something seems to be changing it on the upload. I wonder if it's my browser's graphics engine.

Thank you for your help. I now have a little better idea of what to do in the future. I'm amazed at some of the photos I see here and clearly understand I have a lot to learn about digital processing of photos.

My Contax Zeiss 35-70mm f3.4 is a lens I doubt I will ever sell. It can handle whatever I throw at it.

I wanted a E-mount lens for my A6000, and although I had MC-11 adapter for my Canon EF lenses I wanted to get a faster AF than the MC-11/EF combo (which sometimes hunted). So, after some research and getting feedback from some FM members I settled for the Sigma 30mm/f1.4C lens with the A6000 for a walkabout combination.

I have just got it two days ago, and here are some examples. Of course one cannot judge a lens from a mere 3 photos as CA, vignetting, etc depends on different subject matters, but so far the results are very satisfactory to me.

My backyard tool shed. Full frame, resized. No apparent vignetting or CA and very detailed shingle texture

I find the dynamic range so incredible with the a6500 that the need for bracketing is almost obsolete. I find I can pull the shadows up an insane amount with the image still looking quite good.
