I would like to ask you guys for suggestion ang opinions regarding the 28-70 kit for a7.
I am planning to buy the sel 28-70 lens for my sony a6000. I wanted to have a zoom lens that could match the actual lenght of the 100mm or above lenses. As i was searching i found out that the 28-70 full frame could give me a 42-105 field of view when i mount it on the aps c sensor of my a6000. So i am asking your opinion if i am on the right track to buy sel 28-70 to achieve my need of a zoom that could match the 100mm lenses. Coz as of now i have the kit lens 16-50, sigma 30 f1.4 and the samyang 12 f2. So i think the missing on my gear is a zoom to have more than 100mm lenght. ...Show more →
On an APS-C (a6000) you crop the full frame picture. So a 28-70 mm gets an equivalent medium tele zoom of 42-105 mm. Your idea is correct.
Your 16-50 mm is an equivalent 24-75mm, your Sigma 30mm is 45mm and the Samyang is a lookalike 18mm.
By the way I like the 12mm (=18mm) focal length very much for my APS-camera.

Very colorful, but the tulips in front are out of focus and the digitalis in the middle and background appears to be focused. Can you show your camera readings? Perhaps we can help with some advice.
Great shots with the Touit, Membler. Could you share some technical and shooting data--settings, processing, anything special about how you shot the pictures. I ask because you so often seem to get exceptional clarity and colors as well as sharpness in your images with the 6500.

This was a just stop the truck and grab a few shots of an amazing sunset on my way home from the Denver airport. Both are three shot bracketed shots with one stop exposure difference between the three shots. I should have stoped the lens down but these were shot wide open at f2.8, 1/1600 and iso 100. Merged in Lightroom HDR. Highlights -100, shadows +100. Clarity and vibrance up but quite a bit to around 25 to 30. Some contrast, set white and black points. My basic workflow. No sharpening other than the 25% LR adds for the lens profile.
I sent these over the ON1 Raw Effects for some Dynamic Contrast added but I dialed it back about 50% because it's a really strong preset.
