Just my normal workflow. I actually think the 18-105mm is the one that's a bit off from most other lenses. Not that it's bad or anything, but it renders much cooler than many other lenses.
In fact, I was very impressed with the a6000 and the Rokinon with regards to this flower...it's rare for reds to be rendered this richly...(@ f/2)
This red is great! Regarding your workflow, would you mind giving a a rough outline of what you're doing, of course without spilling trade secrets?
I find the colors and the contrasts really smashing on your shots, and I'd like to improve with my shots in that direction.
Season of Summer Light Week 30, Wednesday - Hot, hot, hot
"It doesn't get much better than this. We've been having days with +30 degrees of Celsius (85 degrees at Fahrenheit scale) and even at nights the temperature doesn't fall below +20 degrees (70 degrees at Fahrenheit scale). This is definitely the peak of Finnish summer, when it comes to temperature. The reverse side of this is that it's too hot to do anything meaningful. Even sitting inside a house leads to sweating. To refresh ourselves we have, like many others, gone swimming whenever possible. The transparent lakes offer us a bit of cold water which will drive the heat away - until you rise from the water. Season of Summer Light Week 30, Wednesday - Summer Flowers
"For Aura this summer has really been about flowers. Everywhere we go, she wants to see the flowers and pick them. We have even had to prohibit her flower picking in public parks and yards of other people. While it looks like a pretty random activity in general there is one aspect I especially like about it: the untrained mind. There are no particular flowers that would be favored and there are no weeds. Every flower she finds represents something to her in a natural way that escapes the categorizing mind of an adult. To me, this looks like [...]"
Ps. My original plan for 'Season of Summer Light' was to end it after week 30 and then move to next season. This won't happen right now, because the next season is not quite ready yet and I'm waiting something to arrive. Therefore I'll have to continue 'Season of Summer Light' with a week or two (still a bit uncertain how long it will take to reach the next step). Good thing about delay is that while the next season is going to be good, I can still push couple summer images into this season which I love very much.
Kruschtel, Thank you! This was lit with the lights from the church. They had a couple of spotlights that I asked to use a bit. I'm not quite sure I really like how the shadows fall off, but It did give us a couple different looks.
