Day 7 of 365 - Chicken with rice, anyone?
"If you live in Europe or Nordic countries you will probably recognize this already an iconic red toy oven by BRIO. In Finland many generations of us have played with them and I remember them too from my childhood. There are of course modernized versions of toy ovens in the market with all the flashy lights, sounds and whatever, but I feel that a simple one gets the job done best. It was one of our most wanted Christmas present and we have already had couple of fresh meals done with it."
Day 8 of 365 - Searching around neighborhood
"When I started my photo blog we were on a holiday. Different places, people and situations. Now we're back and there are routines and everyday life to take care of. Routines and obligations tie me into certain territory, which will act as a scenery for my photographic endeavors. Much like everyone else, I can't take airplane to exotic countries or roam in the night looking for photographs. But this limitation is actually very beneficial for my photography. I need to learn how to see emerging opportunities. And I need to learn how to make them. I need to become more deeply attached to territory where I live. Because of that, I'm now searching around my neighborhood and trying to learn how to see new things in scenery that I know all too well."
this is one of my favorite NEX-7 shots. It was the night of the grand opening or whatever you call it of the Marilyn sculpture being here in Palm Springs. the place was a zoo and people were everywhere making it difficult to get a good shot. as I walked around the statue looking for a shot I suddenly found this angle where the moon was in just the perfect position. I cropped it square to to get rid of all of the clutter of the event.
Day 9 of 365 - Field of view
"Today it hits. The pressure of finding new ideas and subjects in a tight schedule, which I've created myself. Just after I thought it has not been so difficult to find something to photograph each day, I'm suddenly finding my pockets pretty empty. How do I solve this? By posting something different. Still playing with black, but this time I'm rendering it differently."

how is that lens turbo? i read not so great reports of it being a poor replacement for metabones, lack of sharpness and other issues, which I don't detect in your photographs

Haha - thank you, though these are cropped! I find it to be unexpectedly great - my FDn 35/2, 50/1.4 & 100/2.8 lenses are sharp to the edges (if not corners), wider than that are ok too, but suffer from barrel distortion. Lowered contrast (recoverable in RAW) and blue/magenta/purple flare spots (trickier) can be a problem in bright light, especially around water, I haven't even tried them with a hood yet, which should help this? But look at this, uncropped from 50/1.4 + LT at around f2.8, posting large for pixel-peeping - can't complain!
these are amazing results! sold! I am going to go ahead and get one of these for Nikon mount.
I picked up a used NEX 5n recently here on for sale forums for quite cheap, and don't want to really invest in any Sony E lenses beyond the kit that already came with it (I have Nikon full Frame, Fuji X and m43 setups already, another setup with all new lenses, my wife will strangle me), But if I can use my Nikon lenses on Nex 5n on a cheap, may work just nicely!
Day 10 of 365 - Cleaning day
"I don't know where the ideas come from. Do they come into being from ever rampaging chaos, which lies outside of organized human life? Or do they wait us in the platonic 'world of Ideas', where everything is categorized perfectly like in a library or computer file system? Some say they have a manmade origin, which is tied to history of struggle. Wherever they come from, all I know is that I need them to keep going on with my photo blog."
