Jim and Jeff...Thank you for the replies on the diopter. I will give it a try as well.
Hi Michael..I'm starting to really like the 35 1.4ais. I have only had it since this past Friday, so still getting used to it. The size is phenomenal!! And I like the 9 blades, too! I used it on my 1D4 this weekend, too, and came up with some really fantastic photos of Gio. Having used the ZE 35 1.4,the ais is not the ZE, it is excellent though! While the bokeh is not as creamy, it stands up pretty well, in the sharpness dept...well at least stopped down! But I must have a really good copy, 'cause it's pretty sharp wide open.

The 35/1.4 AI-S should be sharp in the centre wide open, but not sharp in the corners, it switches to cross-frame sharpnes between f2.8-4. I found it to be a very dual-natured lens, a superb landscape lens stopped down but with a classic reportage look at wide apertures. You lose a fair bit of its wide-open character on APS-C though.

I miss mine and plan on acquiring another at some point.

Very nice camel shot! fantastic perspective!
I like the last shot above uhoh7!
Just curious if anyone has any experience with the ZM 2.8/25 Biogon? How would you describe it? Is that a better choice than the Zeiss 1.8/24??

I have 21 biogon, on Leica M9, it is very nice lens sharp on center from WO and by f5.6 reach its peak sharp everywhere. 25 biogon has even stronger reputation with world record resolving power. But color corner will be an issue. from what I see so far, Zeiss 24mm seems a better option, faster, AF, sharp and no color shift problem. even price is better.

Gregg, the biogon 25 is a great lens, but you will need to clean up the corner issue with CornerFix on some shots on a 5N, and for get about it on a 7. Compared to a 24mm f:1.8, it is much better at infinity, and just about equal at sort range. OTOH, the 24 has AF, is faster and has no corner issues.

That's actually a telephone pole, the staples are from all the flyers which have been stapled to it over the years

TY sir,

Philber is dead on. Many had very high hopes for the ZM 25, since it is so sharp on film. It's still good, but not like on film. The ZM 28 may be better.

But for landscapes it would be far superior to the sony 24, That said, the sony is VERY good close in, and a full stop at 24mm is huge. When the sun goes down the sony will rule

For the price of either, you could get a CV 28/2 or 1.9 AND a CV 20 (latter good on 5n--not sure on 7)

I was switching lenses fast, but these may all be with the Canon RF 100/2

I like that skyscraper shot, S and nice one there frezeiss--great example of what the zeiss can do and just a superb image.

You've got a nice collection of wide lenses there. Any thoughts comparing these three?
