Glad to know I'm not the only one... I do think the ZA tends toward an ultrasharp harsh look in contrasty conditions. There is nothing soft at all about the chamisa image, either... It might work better as a dusk shot, but I can't get out there then - gotta milk goats, ya know.

I don't remember what lens this was. I think the Rokkor 135mm. Anyway, this is kind of an experimental image for me - lots of post processing.

@sebboh i really have to get a 55/1.7 for closeups! That must be a great place to live, i would choose it over a more central one any time.
yup, i'm quite fond of the lens.
i'm quite fond of where we live, but i think i would enjoy it much better if my daughter was a little older and my wife and i had to work less.
Fantastic shots above Phillip...the second to last shot with the biogon is my fav!

I couldn't agree with you more Sebboh...We live in Santa Cruz(well just north of it anyways!), and it IS a great place to live...but damn expensive!!

Congratulations on your new NEX 7 and I like your photos.
I had to smile when I saw your post because at the beginning of July you posted that putting multi-thousand dollar lenses on an APS-C sensor was a waste. Of course, I disagreed with you at that time and I'll be interested to get your further opinions after you've had some more time with the new camera.
Hi, Jeff, thanks for comments. I stand behind my comment about putting multi-thousand lens on APS-C is a waste OK, I think most if not all FF lens doing very good job on APS-C size, especially shoot after f5.6. If you shoot WO, you loose mode than half of frame size of info/DOF, which is the reason you pay that much. Plus, I always think about Leica lens is way overpriced for what it offer. It won't make a shot from looser to be a keeper. I did buy the 50lux at retail and love its performance, but because of price, it can't be my favorite lens. I wish it is $2500. My favorite lens is still humble $650 Zeiss Planar.
But if you ask me about NEX-7: simple: wonderful. The EVF make it a total different camera than my C3 use to be. And sensor is wonderful, I can't expect better. Only drawback is corner color shift, I don't want think about it during honeymoon with it.
Thanks for comment my photo, I will comment the ones I love shortly after. This is one of most hard to track thread on Alt forum right now.
Some picture from Ocean Beach San Francisco. I acidentaly leave it on 16:9 mode. All with Sonnar 50mm 1.5 WO. The last one is kit lens at 18mm.
