Great processing on the pano, Derek. That's beautiful and so richly detailed.

super sweet sebboh and everyone...jeez
I should take Snowboxer's advice and go find a brownie

Quick one from the contax 100-300
http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8281/7853755222_53910d7fdc_b.jpg

Other recent upgrades: IPAD 3 (no way to overstate this as image viewing device---nothing except a great print could compare) and an i7 OSX desktop. My old 30" hi-rez died- and a t first I went to a 27 1080, but was shocked at the grain. Did my research and found a used cinema HD 30" for 6 and change. I guess the response is slow--but you never notice it and the nex shots look fantastic on it. Incredible build,

OK one more with the contax:

What the sky used to look like before all the fires:

the last might be the 28 cron--which out performs everything else I own by a mile-- to my eye anyway.

The sky as it was in the first shots

Nice shots, uhoh. Have you tried shooting some of these locations with a polarizer?

Oh no, I like to ride bareback lol

TY, not yet but I think I will take your suggestion and experiment. I have a variety of thread sizes--what should I prioritze FL-wise?

Thoughts in general about use of polarizers?

Polarizers look a little weird with ultra-wides (the amount of polarization is uneven across the sky) and you may lose too much light on really long focal lengths, but anything in the middle is fair game. For example, I'm wondering in that last shot you just posted if a CP would cut through some of the haze and bring out the clouds a bit.

Thanks, I'm using a modified Contax G 45mm F2 which was placed inside a OM 50mm F3.5 macro body. M-a-x in this forum did the modification. It allows very close focus, maybe 1:1 on APS-C. As far as sharpness, it seems the Contax G may have a floating element? Because sharpness is remarkably high even with macro distances.

Phillip Reeve (or anyone), do you use cornerfix or similar on your CV 15/4.5 shots?

I've used this lens with my Nex-5n (with Voigtländer adapter) for a week, and it has some serious vignetting and some color shift as well. Infinity is worse than close-up. Aperture doesn't seem to matter that much. I mostly shot at infinity at f8. I'm considering sending it back because of the vignetting.

@mortyb
i don't treat my CV15 shots on the 5n. Sure there is some vignetting and sometimes there is a noticeable color shift but i'm fine with that. that picture above is as bad as it gets, it thought about cornerfix for a second but decided that it didn't matter to me.

Thanks, Phillip. I believe mine has more vignetting than yours. Not just the corners, but the sides as well, esp. left. I'll test it some more. Maybe it's copy variation as well.

This is the most expensive forum on the internet

Does this look OK?

I also grabbed steps from your PM advice 39-43-46-58

Maybe I can get my skys right now--- w/o PP contortion

Phillip TY sir !
