corposant - as Taylor correctly pointed out, that casino shot was on a Royal Carribean cruise ship. The dealer actually gave me a big grin at one point, which I missed getting by about a half second.

Bob - I really like the third shot. wow...

Phillip - I'm with philber on this - that first image is really wonderful. Those blues... I keep trying to get that.

frezeiss - All of those street shots are magnificent, and I do love the toning.

Coloured, Bob, Partitura & Philipe.. Thank you! Its quite a challenge in posting street shots from a place that has a different language than most of the forum members here, as one would not understand certain irony like the homeless bum shot in front of a store called Sejahtera which means Prosperity in english.

Philipe, you've been posting little lately
Bob, I really like your last shot. Even more if a bizzare character happensto be located in front of the coming fall 2012 advertising. Just my 2c
Coloured, please post more of your shot from indo, its always nice to see how a foreign person sees in my home country.
Maws, I really like the colors on your shot

@freziess thanks, my view of indo is a little different from your average tourist, I tend to visit place where most tourists don't go... and I speak indonesian which tends to change the way I experience the place

heres one of a friend of mine

Oh It's already art, but how about adding some local contrast?

I like it the way it is. It has a real pinhole quality to it (with less vignetting).

That's exactly how I hike. Only I'm taller and my sippy cup is full of Long Island Ice Tea. Same hat, though.

OK, I've been plamed for not posting enough. Fair comment. Just a couple of placeholders, until I can process more shots...

freaklikeme, last beach portrait is really special. Could be the light but I bet the photographer and lens has something to do with it.

I met up with a nice woman on my last trip who wanted to sell me her Elmarit 24 ASPH, a lens I very much wanted to buy, though I was hoping she'd come down a bit in price, which she would not. But she did let me play with her Elmarit 21 pre-ASPH, and that was enough to make me find one of my own. It's a vI with the Frankenstein posts for the hood. It's not a lens without its problems. Off-axis distortion is fairly evident, as it a retrofocus design, and it vignettes pretty heavily, more so with the funky square hood that's common to both E60s, but you'll probably want to use the hood since flare can be an issue. On the 7, it is possible to get some color shift in the corners racked out to infinity. How evident it is depends on the lighting (and vignetting) situation. I'll shoot some landscapes over the weekend to illustrate. Wide open, the corners and edges aren't perfect.

The upside? Despite the larger front element (E60 on the 21 versus E55 on the 24 or the ASPH 21) with the hood attached, it's about the same size as the 24 with its larger hood. It balances very nicely on the 7. It's center-sharp wide open (see the crop below to give you an idea of where the edges start to go wonky), good at f/4, and excellent corner-to-corner at f/5.6 (on-axis). The distortion's correctable in LR manually, which also makes the minor CA wide open a non-issue. Its draw is very much in line with the pre-ASPH 35 and 90, low contrast/high resolution. Color is wonderful and the files very easy with which to work, particularly in B&W conversions. But the point that really sold me was the MFD of .4M (16"). On the Hawk's, it goes down to about an inch. All that in a relatively tiny package makes me very happy.

Neither of these are stellar compositions, so I apologize for that. They're just meant to illustrate my points.
