Ok. NEX 5n Arrived today with the 18-55 OSS lens.
Background. I own a 5d3, and some high quality fast primes and zooms. Shoot family, birds, and landscape, and macro. I guess a bit of everything. also have a panasonic LX5 which is a nice point and shoot, and small. but wanted something that produces a little cleaner files, yet portable.
So far, things I love about it.
1. Size. 2. Sensor.
Things I really dont care for
18-55 lens has a fair bit of distortion.
Lack of EVF, OVF (which I knew about)
No auto iso in M mode. I am back to the awkwardness of my autoiso on my 5d2.
Battery life is short. esp since you are using live view so much.
I wish there was one more customizable button there.
Here is my first posted shot. 3 shot panorama. http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8023/7594949142_24a0fdb148_h.jpg
more to come. I am now debating between sigma 30 2.8, or sony 50 1.8. I love the size of sigma, and of course its cheaper. the sony is a fair bit faster and has IS.
Kevindar - nice first post with your 5N , nice thing about it is you can upgrade to some nice primes at very reasonable prices , should find them to be superior to the kit lens in most every way.
SirJon - another nice post - what was your iso setting on this one?

Thank you Jim.

these are the first shots w the G45. A remarkable nice lens.
@Sirfishalot, so jealous. That sucker looks tasty. Thanks for sharing, I gotta get me some Penn Cove mussels before the end of the summer. Everything is so tasty where you live.
Brian, I see what I like less about this lens than the 110/2, and that is the ringed boke. As soon as there is some kind of highlight back there, the boke gets too full of character, for my taste. Anyway, maybe you like that. What do you think of the look compared to the 110/2?

Too early to tell but that shot with the tree in the background surprised me. The bokeh is nervous and not silky smooth as the 110. Bokeh in the shot of my doughter is much more what I like to see.
