Phillip - I must also thank you for sharing this script. I used it last weekend for the first time and was very happy with the results.
I converted a Canon 5D Mk III RAW file to produce a 5760 x 4380 TIF, taken with a Contax Planar 50/1.4 lens at 100ISO.
I downsized this with your script to a 1024 wide jpeg image, a limit imposed by a work-based photography recreational discussion group.
Thanks again Phillip. I was not using successive resize and sharpen routine before, and I now see the clear advantages.
Like any process however, it must be applied carefully in order not to over-sharpen original captured images, unless that's the specific aim!
A few from NEX7 and Zeiss 24/1.8. Cropped and resized from JPEG file. Other than this, zero adjusted.
I found this combo very handy for full body portraits. Usually I take a step back to avoid possible perspective distortion. And the large mpix provides enough room for crops.
sebboh, that c/y 35 looks wild at close distances! Another great panorama as well.
Phillip, your work is consistently excellent.
briantho, I like the serene view in your last shot - not that much different from the lake sceneries in Finland
wyan, great portraits - the exposure is spot on.
Yes, as usual very nice shots and perfect PP Phillip!
And superwows for that barn Michael, looking awesome on the iPad!! Is it rain aiding here or some kind of low fog? Impressive use of this lens with its "limited" DOF capabilities, very inspiring, perfect comp too.
Wyan - lovely set - and I like 1 and 2 best
Jaako - a 'pierless' shot - sorry
Love the last two in particular Phillip.
Michael - that barn shot is beautiful - go the kit zoom!

Thanks guys.
We get plenty of morning fog in New England, perfect for these types of shots. I took this one on my drive to work.
The adapter is high quality, as usual when it comes to Kipon, but the built in aperture is garbage. It goes from 1 to 6, and does nothing for DoF, instead it just causes vignetting without any effect on sharpness. Shooting the Contax N lenses wide open is the only option with this adapter, which might not be so bad for the 24-85, but a macro lens like this 100mm is almost useless if it can't be stopped down.
Thanks! I got so frustrated at not being able to adjust the DoF that I went in and got the trusty old Contarex 115 Tessar. Here is the same flower with that lens and alot of added DoF:
The characteristics are quite close to the Zeiss Planars, which is really nice. You can get good separation even at fairly large distances, despite the small max aperture and APS-C sensor.
ulrik, the portrait is beautiful - great expression and just the right dof and pop to her eyes
briantho, nice macro work - pity about the adapter, I wonder if anyone has had good luck with adapters with built-in apertures
Makten, very realistic feel to your shots - I also like your more abstract work very much
