Fantastic Jacob, I really enjoyed these. I myself, have fallen in love with the jpgs my nex produces, and certainly cannot find fault in yours. Thanks for sharing.
Taran, Michael, Jaakko, Philber, Morty - thanks for your comments. The Lost Coast (Northern California) is a special place, whose beauty should be experienced first hand.
As for the kit lens, I'm pretty happy with it from 18-28mm. Color and contrast are lacking compared to better lenses, but that can somewhat be tackled in post I guess. I think if Sony offers a high quality wide angle zoom I would switch to that for my backpacking & hiking needs, maybe carrying just a fast prime to supplement.
Vallejo - The first image is a screen shot from the game Limbo. I don't play computer games often, but coincidentally I had played that one (very neat game, all black and white, very atmospheric) recently and I couldn't help but draw the similarity with the trees
^ - Adam - how do you like the 24 1.8? I'm still trying to decide whether to splurge and get it. The 24 1.8 with my 35 CZJ Flek, C/Y 50 1.7 and 18-55 kit lens would make a nice walk around set I think.

Great set!
when i used the kit-lens on my tnereife-trip i found it to be very good at 24mm, sharp across the whole frame. But at 18mm while the center was quite good, sharpness dropped to rather poor levels as you left the center sample image .
I recently bought a Nikkor 300/4.5 Ai-s, so i had to shoot some ducks (well at least somehow related to ducks )
