Great photos here, too many to mention everybody!!
@Corposant: That Cron sings!!
@Philip Reeve: Nice images, and by the way, having lived in Tenerife for over 10 years, I really appreciated the set from your vacation there. Masca has got to be one of my fav. places in this world...
@ Briantho: Love those!! Really nice detail and fab. colors...
A couple images from today, on my way back home tonight.
Nex-7 with Minolta Rokkor MD 50/1.7, all wide open, except the first one (I believe f/2.8 or f/4)
mmmmm. I am looking to add a sharp 24 mm to my collection... Considering a 24mm f2.8 MD rokkor. Supposedly very sharp, it would be a good lens for landscapes... Or a zeiss 1.8 e mount, can be used with less light, offers possible autofocus but 4 times the price... Are there other lenses in the same price range (max $1k) that have outstanding qualities I should be considering ?
I have the Canon FD 24mm 2.0 and really like it at around $300. I'd go with the Sony mount Zeiss 24 if spending 1k though.

Sholt, I like that first one a lot. I feel like I can walk along the stream into the forest in the distance. Good work on the exposure. If I may, you might consider cropping a bit of the stream from the bottom, I think it will make for a more harmonious composition.
p.s. CV 90 is one of my favorites lenses, it's not very exotic, but it never fails to deliver!
Here's one with a C/Y Distagon 18/4. It's not as big as I thought it'd be. The focus ring is too smooth, though, so I wonder if I should have it checked…

I finally got my step-up ring so I can use my grads on my ZM 18.
Fantastic. Those grads really enhance the photos compared to the ones you posted earlier.

Lovely mood Brian, wish it was about 3 mm wider.
nice comp ulff.
Thanks... I just have to post these cropped versions of the icicles shots I posted earlier. I hadn't noticed before, but the details of these magical shapes are so much nicer when cropped to almost 100%.
Nice shots briantho. Agreed, less is more here. And I suspect icicles can take a lot of sharpening without cracking and the blue background noise just adds to the overall feel. #1 & #2 tops the set.

Thanks - I remember when I shot film exclusively, the mission was to compress dynamic range as much as possible using filtration or creative lighting. While the newer NEX cameras have more dynamic range than slide film has (particularly Velvia), it's still amazing how much different (better?) results can be when one uses old-time tactics on digital.
Thanks for the feedback Jacob. Some of the excellent images you posted earlier in this thread are what led me to pick up the CV90. Originally I thought it would be sort of an occasional use lens, but I am finding more ways to use it all the time. I like the way it smoothly transitions to out of focus areas.
