I stayed there for Xmas 2010... Beautiful area and stayed at Balmers with most of the other single club going tourist crowd.

Phillip Reeve gave us images, in post #17 at last page:
images:
"a horse"
and
"a landscape"

Philip, that's a good demonstration of pros and cons with the Contax Zeiss G 45/2; the ho-hum bokeh wide open and then the wonderfully detailed landscape. I used mine for panos mainly, wonderful resolution!
I like your landscape image.

5N, CV35/1.2 at f/2 I think, ISO1000, heavily cropped (a lesson in how it goes when not bringing a longer lens, darn).

cool! i've wondered for a while about this lens, it looks like it probably has a similar character to the 42/1.2.

edit: can we get a picture of it on camera?

Yep. I'll post a couple in the "Pictures of Alt Glass on the NEX" thread later tonight.

From my Wales 2012 set... I was very much impressed with the rendering of Zeiss ZF series on NEX 3. Color was very pleasant and bokeh, as has already been mentioned here umpteen times, is quite sublime.

Will do. I'll try and find some more interesting subjects than my family dogs today. Like other people's dogs.

I thought it would be harder to find than it was. I've seen more of these pop up lately than I have of the Rokkor 135/2, for example. It seems to run in cycles. Maybe there's only about eight good copies available, and when one gets sold, it starts a domino effect among the seven other owners.

The Pen-F 60/1.5 is one of those I hope to stumble across one of these days.

Here are a couple of macro shots with the Sigma 150/2.8 on the NEX-7. It makes a very comfortable macro platform.

Spring has arrived -- in Texas, anyway! Honeybees, and a carpet beetle, and some sort of hoverfly / false bee.

Got the Metabones/Conurus Canon EF->NEX adapter back from Hong Kong today, upgraded to v2 firmware, and finally all my Canon mount lenses work perfectly on the NEX 5N.

I will be posting a full review of this adapter sometime soon, after having had more of a chance to play with it, but thought it would be fun to show two samples from today.

The first is with the Canon EF-S 10-22mm which I bought just to use with this adapter. Here it is at 10mm.
http://thebrandons.smugmug.com/Other/Samples-for-forums/i-zsjfFQ6/0/X2/Metabones-1-X2.jpg

The second is with the Canon 70-200mm f4L IS at 200mm. This is an untouched out of camera JPG.
http://thebrandons.smugmug.com/Other/Samples-for-forums/i-Q2wFXPc/0/X2/Metabones-2-X2.jpg

By the way, I haven't been getting much feedback on this thread and if anyone has anything to say about any the images I've been posting, even if it's constructive criticism, I'd be grateful.

Smiert, amazing macros!

FlyPenFly, great landscape and, to be honest, I don't mind the bokeh of the 45 wide open.

freaklikeme, so appetizing… a little early for pizza, thoug

Excellent black and white, mco 970! I love the last one on the series

ebrandon, I do! I love your last image. Great stuff!

I like your second image a lot. I think the first image could possibly be improved in PP (pulling back some of the highlights, adjusting the contrast), but I also think the intended focus is a little unclear: were you looking to focus on the foreground, the doorway, or beyond the doorway?

Which just goes to show. I really like the first image. The second image is pretty, but to me, cliched.

i think thats a donkey, not a horse
i have to agree, i don't linke the G45's bokeh @f/2.0, @f/2.8 i think its usually quite fine which is why i seldom use f/2.0.

i quite like this shot of marin headlands(?). another time of day, maybe sunset, might work out better for matching the wall painting to the view. a squarish crop of just the doorway wall might be cool too.

this is a fantastic shot! out of curiosity, are those really cowbirds or are they actually starlings?

douglas got me going through some of my old unprocessed contax g 35 shots, so here's a few available darkness shots with it:
