I use hand signals and take a photo of the signal for the appropriate f stop (though many times I get lazy and don't bother to take the extra picture).

If you did that around here people would think you were making gang signs and you'd get shot.

Hello. Long time follower of this thread, it is the epoch of civility, so much to learn. Thanks for FM forums.
Pentax 110 24mm, NEX-3
Taran:
The vignetting you get from the lens, the out-of-focus dog, and the extreme post processing B&W treatments are great fun. This is very much in tune with the iPhone photography aesthetic that I'm starting to appreciate more every day.
Where did you get a Pentax 110 to NEX adapter?
I have the complete 110 set which I used on m43, and getting the adapter (and then fixing it to make it work after I got it) was no easy task. I hope there's an easier solution for NEX.
Jacob, I noticed your previous comment now and yes I find 135 F/4:ish hard to focus on the 5N - after all we're talking close to 200mm FF equivalent - and it also have implications for the shutter time, needing almost 1/200s I guess.
But I think the Jena 135/3.5 are good performers too - or have you seen/read otherwise? These can be had for very reasonable prices - whereas the F/4-versions seem uncommon. I am thinking of replacing mine for a better condition version simply because they're cheap compared to some other lenses we tend to spend money on..
Out of curiosity, how do you look up lens examples on Flickr?, I know about Flickriver but it's limited to the most common lenses only.

Thanks for the kind words.
The adapter I got is the cheapie with light leak available from a number of sellers on eBay, I haven't experienced the light leak yet, but some electrical tape at a judicious point on the adapter looks like it will temporarily solve the problem. I got mine from "jinfinance" @12 days from China to US East coast. I may spring for the Kipon adapter because I have a nice copy of the 24, and that lens is really sweet on NEX, also, the adapter I have focuses past infinity, the real infinity for my 110 24 is now around the 8' mark
Thanks philber and frank.
Briantho, fantastic crisp winter color from the Zeiss 100-300, congratulations.

I paid $150 for my Jena 135/3.5 and have found it nothing but tack sharp and I don't find it too difficult to focus. The size is really nice for NEX. It's not a small lens per se, but it's easy to handle and reasonably light.
Stitch pano out near Hovenweep - there's a person walking way out in the desert at about 1/4 from the left side - the 135 brought in Sleeping Ute mountains nicely.
Unfortunately I decided to try to lube it myself, took it apart and it's been sitting in my desk for the last five months. Just haven't gathered the will power to try to reassemble it again after my first failed attempt.
Taran, Those images are both excellent and lots of fun. Looking forward to seeing more!

I figured as much re: focusing, even my 90 is on the verge of being tricky to handle. I have thought about picking up a J-11 to satiate my urge to own one of these lenses. If I like it I can continue the search for the CZJ (or who knows... maybe the J-11 is just as nice).
I don't know that the 3.5/13.5 is any better, worse, or noticeably different. I do know that I like what I see in the rendering from the 4/13.5. I suppose I also like the challenge of finding one too.
To search on Flickr is easy, just use the search box For Example
You have to be creative and try variations of what you want though, as there are multiple groups using variations of lens name.
